JUPITER, Florida (January 30, 2013)—Weiss Ratings upgraded the financial strength ratings of 12 life and annuity insurance companies and downgraded 10 based on its analysis of third quarter 2012 results. To ensure the safety of their investments, Weiss Ratings recommends that consumers do business with insurance companies rated B+ or higher. Currently, 119 life and annuity insurers, or 14.5 percent, are rated B+ or higher, meriting inclusion on the Weiss Recommended List.
